Welcome to District Ink! Our Private Studio provides a luxurious and personalized experience between our Clients and Artists. We believe that creating a relaxing and inviting space for Clients to feel at ease during our Services is crucial; Whether it's by offering a cup of Coffee, extra Pillows, or giving you full control of the 75" TV during your appointment.

Our location provides the perfect escape from the hectic buzz of downtown, and is conveniently located close to the YLW Airport for Clients flying in from out of town.

Our Studio was Established in 2023, by Owner & Head Artist, Cole Shanks. We would like to give a special thanks to whom we like to refer as the 'Founding Fathers': Lyle Shanks & Jared Brazeau, for their hard work in renovating our Studio, it would not be such a beautiful place without you both.

Owner & Head Artist

Meet Cole, our Owner & Head Artist! He began his Tattoo Apprenticeship in 2019, while still maintaining his day job as a Technologist, at an Architecture Firm in Lethbridge, AB. After completing his Apprenticeship in 2022, Cole realized his dream of owning his own Studio was fully achievable, and worked tirelessly to perfect his craft in order to make it his reality. Cole specializes in Large Scale Black & Grey Realism projects, with a preference for Greek Mythology Concepts & Portraits.

Rayliegh Dawn

Apprentice Tattoo Artist & Studio Manager

Meet Rae! She first dipped her toes into the Tattoo Industry by Managing another Studio in Kelowna, from fall of 2020 to winter of 2022. After watching the Artists around her, she developed a passion and dove deep into drawing and learning the Fundamentals of Tattooing, which lead to the beginning of her Apprenticeship at District in October of 2023. Her administrative experience hasn't gone to waste, as she is still Managing our Studio, and will be the cheerful voice on the other side of the Phone! Rae is currently accepting all booking requests of varying styles, with a preference for Botanical & Realism projects.

Jillaine Bergeson

Resident Artist

Specializing in Color Realism & Cover-Ups

Meet Jillaine, the newest addition to our Team! This wicked Artist won an award at Canada’s largest tattoo convention - The Calgary Tattoo and Arts Festival. She has been Tattooing since 2018, and truly understands the importance of self expression through outward appearance, and the excitement of permanence. Although she enjoys a fair bit of creative freedom with her designs, her goal is to incorporate your ideas to craft a tattoo that is as unique as you are.

Her approach reflects our connection to the natural world through subject matter and eco-conscious materials. She loves to ink landscapes, northern lights, flowers, space, underwater, animals, portraits, sacred geometry, surrealism, psychedelics and so much more.
