Aftercare Instructions
Please note, if at any time you are showing signs of an infection, contact your Physician. If you are unsure if something looks normal, you can always send us a photo or ask us questions either via email.
How will my Tattoo be Wrapped?
-
Immediately following your Session, your Artist will apply a Second Skin Bandage (SSB) to the Tattooed Area. This Bandage is commonly used in Hospitals to treat burns, and works great for protecting fresh Tattoos!

-
We do not apply the Bandage to those with sensitivities to adhesives, or those who request not to use it.
What Aftercare Product Should I Use?
-
We recommend using Hustle Butter, this is available for purchase in our Studio in various sizes. If you don't want to use this product, you can pickup a Fragrance Free Lotion from your local Pharmacy.
-
DO NOT USE Vaseline, or other thick ointments as Aftercare. Your Tattoo needs to breathe in order to heal properly.
-
Only use pump or squeeze bottles of Fragrance Free Soaps. Bars of soap trap bacteria. You can pickup a bottle of Fragrance Free Soap at your local Pharmacy, and if you are unsure if you have selected the correct Product, ask a Pharmacist to be sure.
Days 1 - 5 ~ Second Skin
-
No Direct Sunlight on your Tattoo.
-
No submerging in water; this means no hot tubs, pools, saunas, lakes, baths, etc. Keep it out of the direct stream of water in the shower.
-
Do NOT pick at your bandage or pop any air bubbles.
-
No excessive sweating.
-
If you notice the bandage is peeling up and exposing the Tattoo, that an air bubble has been popped, water is trapped underneath, or if you notice red bumps around the edge of the SSB, take it off immediately (see next section for Instructions).
-
A small amount of pooling under the SSB is normal, this is a mixture of Ink, Blood, and Plasma. If you are unsure if what you see is normal, text or email us a photo for reassurance.
Days 6 - 21 ~ Healing
-
No hot tubs, pools, saunas, lakes, baths or direct sunlight.
-
DO NOT apply Sunscreen! Your tattoo is still healing and there could be harmful products in your Sunscreen.
-
Wash and Moisturize twice daily, and directly following any activity where you feel the tattoo has been exposed to bacteria (i.e. Gym).
-
Keep the tattoo away from any dirty environments, for example: don't touch it unless washing with clean hands, don't let it rub against equipment at the gym, don't let pets lick it etc.
Day 6 ~ Taking Off Bandage
-
Wash your bedding! This is very important since they trap more bacteria than you may think.
-
Thoroughly wash your hands, then run warm water over the Bandage while you are pulling it off (this loosens the adhesive and is easiest to do in the shower).
-
Start from the bottom of the Bandage and gently pull down and outwards from the tattoo, this is the least painful/rough on your Tattoo. Please be aware this doesn't always feel awesome.
-
Once the Bandage is off, gently wash the tattoo using the tips of your fingers with a Fragrance Free Soap, pat dry with a clean Paper Towel, and apply a thin layer of your Fragrance Free Moisturizer.
Day 22 - After ~ Healed
-
Regularly apply sunscreen to avoid premature fading. Your Sunscreen should:
-
Be an SPF of 30 or Higher
-
NOT contain Oxybenzone or Octinoxate.
-
Mineral Based are typically the safest.
-
